Behind the Screen: The Island: MTV - General Discussion

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Exactly my point to KT. I think it is something more personal and deeper than what is shown and it must have been hard for Tonya.

Ok. As the resident Kenny defender... that was a little extreme. He could have just left it at the first few retards.

what do you mean they wont post the episode?
Bacchus#39
TJ needs acting lessons or something. He is just so horribly flat with his lines. I swear I saw a couple of cast members catching winks during his spiel...
Dartagnan#40
God the shows rules just keep getting juicier and juicier.
Anonymous#41
Now I understand the "get with the girls to get the keys" line.

Yeah but seeing what ST was saying kinda puts a new persepctive on everything. If any cast member has had to hard on challenges it's definitely Tonya (and of course some others too but Tonya especially).

i mean they won't post the episode... for another week. in other words: they will post it in a week. in other words: if i rely on the mtv site, i will see all the episodes a week after they air.

Hey, here's somewhere I haven't been in forever. Johnny talking about the "guy advantage" reminds me of the disaster that was Gauntlet 3. I'm a guy myself, but come on now...
Dartagnan#48
Johnny just lost every point he has ever had in my book, ever. He is so sexist and misogynistic it is kinda vile. Tonya, I feel so bad, seriously.
Unoriginator#49
Johnny Mosley was the host before TJ. haha, can't believe I remember that.

Calm down now MSR. I am sure with the power of the internets we can come up with a solution to your problem. :wink2:

I think it would be better to keep it even. Women are more apt to care and nuture... it would def be easier to have both. To survive we need men and women. It's not just a procriational deal.

Dave Mirra (one of my favorite BMXers) also hosted before TJ.

haha, i'm calm. i was just spelling it out for tjhallow as he seemed to be confused :P
Dartagnan#54
Poor Tonya. I swear that her being up against them is very unfair.
Phoenix#55
.... This Face off or whatever doesn't really seem like a boy/girl challenge to me. Kenny and Abe definitely has the bigger advantage.

tjhallow is a she.

I agree. You have to have the strength to pull out the dowel with all of the pressure from the water. Tonya was definitely at a disadvantage. And the people who voted for Tonya do not know how to play the game.
Bacchus#58
I am not sure if I fully appreciate the male logic of going with all men beyond the fact that women are the drama on these things. If you keep all the strongest male players, it just means you will probably go up against a strong player in the future and he could very be a part in sending you home. So yes, vote off the girls that are married, into other women or don't look easy, but there is no real advantage to getting rid of them all and keeping the biggest threats! ;)
