Behind the Screen: The Island: Episode 5 - Discussion

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Right, but that doesn't mean he can't still hand her the key like she's a human being!

Exactly I don't like the way Johnny has treated Ev during this challenge honestly.

Along with several other people IMO.

Johnny was being a bit of a baby when he dropped his key on the ground instead of handing it to Ev.
Only "a bit of a baby?" :)

I know, I'm giving him too much credit. There's a re-run of the episode on right now. I'll come up with a more suitable name after.

His cowardice was also reinforced when he was shaking in his boots when Tyrie was about to kick his ***. I thought that was hilarious.

Jeez, I know! Where the heck does he get off saying that Tyrie DQ'ed on purpose? Does he not understand what it means to choke? He lost his own face-off because he made a dumb mistake, and only survived because the other guy was going home. I can't believe that anyone is still friends with him or has respect for him in any way. I really hope this bites him in the *** in later challenges.

Tyrie's confrontation with Johnny wasn't as heated as a dispute from the previous night involving Tyrie and 'Alliance Family' members.

It should have been a daily. Was there no camera present?

It never made it to dailies, although I didnt expect it to. There was one camera present although another 'situation' was going on at time too.

Hmmm, the other one escaped my attention. It's time for a Van Nuys phone call. Thanks for the tip.
