Ahhhhh finally watched the episode and there are just so many emotions this episode gave out. I'm also glad I stuck with it, even though just ten minutes into the pilot I wanted to give up. I also felt really bad for Carrie and it did make me dislike Brody more. Great acting on Claire Danes' part. Phenomenal. Can't wait for the finale and I can only imagine what they are going to do going into season 2. Someone is obviously is going to get killed, probably multiple people. Ugh OPD, you are right, there are just way too many questions that 90 minutes just can't possibly explain them all. I don't know how I'm going to handle myself with Survivor, Dexter, and the Homeland finales all in one night.

From watching the finale, we can sort of take a guess at what is to come next season. Obviously with Brody still in the picture and Abu Nazir no where near caught we can just assume that storyline will continue. With Walker, that scene was shocking to me. Someone had to go I guess. Great finale and I'm glad it was an hour and half long. Very great new show to add to my growing list of favorite TV shows.

I was a little dissappointed in the finale because I thought there was going to be more action but in any case it was still good show. I feel SO BAD for Carrie. Wonder where season 2 is going to go? I read this article last night and I think it's a great insight to what was going on and what the writers were thinking and what could be in store in the future. I think it's a great series and glad to know it's kicking *** in ratings. Showtime Sunday just needs to outperform itself next season :D

I hated the finale. They kicked the cup down the road. It was great until it was clear they were going to bail on a great ending. So instead it ended with a new beginning. Great for next season. Bad for payoff. They should have stolen a note from Dexter. You can offer a payoff and still build for next year.

Those are my thoughts exactly. I was SO pumped for a really exciting 90min and...it just didn't happen. It almost makes me less interested in season 2. I almost wish that Brody would have just done it, like, halfway through the episode and then they could have the after-effects/wrap-up from there. And I really don't buy that Nazir would've just been like "Vest didn't work, eh? Ok, well I see your point. Shoot your friend now." Just...NOT as intense and exciting as I expected. But on a better note, Claire Danes has done some killer acting in this series.

I was thinking the same thing... I think she is absolutely perfect for this part.

No question about it. She is the reason I will be back, even if I was a bit disappointed in the finale. It is still an amazing series and Claire Danes should pick up a trophy come award season.

Claire Danes locked up the emmy in the 2nd to last episode no doubt, but I love this show. I too was frustrated at the finale not having an explosion, no pun intended. But I feel like brody not doing it set up next season pretty good because of the tape still out there.

After watching episode two I have to ask, are we at the moment of Carrie's vindication or is Saul going to keep the information about Brody on the DL? This show never makes things easy...

I'm finally caught up on the show and I agree. Last night's episode was amazing. I didn't expect that to happen so soon and it caught me off guard! Why can't all TV shows do this?

I loved everything about the episode last week until the last few minutes. Really, you are going to let a guy that tried to blow up the Vice President and his staff in a bunker per the direction of Islamic Terrorists work for you? While I understand wanting to keep Damian Lewis in the fold, I think they should have had a little more backbone. I can already see him getting of scot-free because "no one can ever find out" for whatever BS reason they sling in our direction. I was hoping that Homeland would follow the "24" mold with real world consequences affecting primary characters, but it doesn't look like that is going to be the case.

I don't think a comparison to "24" in that respect is fair - they rarely introduced a "villain" as a main character like Damian Lewis, they were either very one-dimensional villains to begin, or they suddenly turned out to be traitors for the sake of the twist. And for the "positive" main characters, there were consequences for certain actions, sure, but they were revoked, and reinstated as the script saw fit to keep the twists coming. I have to say I am pretty happy with the way they have handled Damian Lewis' character, and I hope the writers won't disappoint me.

Tonight was by far the best episode of the entire series. I swear I'm gonna need a Xanax during the finale.

I thought that episode was just gonna be one of those Brody and Jessica know they don't love each other and the detail gets closer on Nazir but they took it in a completely different direction. I thought they'd do an episode with Carrie being held hostage and Walden dying in either the season finale or penultimate episode but not so soon, there's still 2 episodes left. Sick episode, not sure how they can top it in the finale but they'll find a way.

The season peaked with the arrest of Brody and was never the same after that point. I don't even know what to say about the finale. Last year I was disappointed because they left us hanging, but at least there was something of substance remaining to be discovered. Now, not so much. I've read reviews this morning and some loved it, while others felt the same as I do about the finale. I honestly don't know how anyone could have found anything redeeming about that final hour. It was so overtly concocted - I felt absolutely cheated. It had all the horrible "24" cliches along with the especially bad, predictable writing of the later seasons. Is Brody being set up this time or is he actually the one that did it? I don't think I care.

The "Homeland" Road to Ruin Finale: The 29 Worst Moments Of Season 2
Here's the thing about Homeland: Brody should have died (blown himself up, or blown himself and the vice president up, or blown himself and his daughter up, or been caught and killed by Carrie and/or Saul) at the end of Season 1. Yes, we love Damian Lewis, but Brody needed to go; Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) would then move onto another challenge in Season 2. Yay, Homeland. That is not what happened.

I'm very skeptical to watch the rest of this season. I've seen up to Brody's arrest and haven't been able to watch the rest due to being super busy. However, I may finish the season up very soon, but it's not high priority as of right now.
