Behind the Screen: Heartbreak for Stiller's Heartbreak

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I actually thought "Heartbreak" looked funny. I am a big Ben Stiller fan...

I thought it looked funny as well, but I also thought I'd wait to rent it. Ben Stiller, like most comedic actors, seems to just keep remaking the same movie...

Heartbreak for Stiller's Heartbreak

User image There was no "Halo" effect for Ben Stiller or the weekend box office. Stiller's new comedy "The Heartbreak Kid" opened at number two with a disappointing $14 million, per screen. User image

I actually thought "Heartbreak" looked funny. I am a big Ben Stiller fan. Guess that was not the consensus.

Ben Stiller is a funny guy I give him that. But I don't usually willingly watch his stuff. That kind of comedy makes me cringe.

I have to agree. The previews of this film looked like maybe an offshoot of that one he did with Jenifer Aniston that is always replaying on cable... He is such a good actor, it is to bad. Ever seen Permanent Midnight? He really nailed the more serious role of a junkie. Great film. You are right that most actors seem to play type cast roles over and over in replicate films. Just look at Vince Vaughn. I am watching "The Breakup" right now and you could easily take a snapshot of his character and find the mirror image in "The Wedding Crashers" "Swingers" and "Old School."

I finally caught this on HBO and it was bad...really bad. The only partially redeeming scenes were of nude Malin Akerman and those made up a scant 3 of the 116 minutes of run time... User image

I personally thought this movie was extremely funny! My husband and I laughed throughout the whole thing!

It had its moments... I much preferred Michelle Monahan in Gone Baby Gone and Stiller has done better in this genre in the past. I thought the sub par Along came Polly was better and practically the same movie!

I never saw Along came Polly, maybe that is why I found this one so funny. The bedroom scenes were hillarious. Sometimes when I tell my husband"I love you" he says love, love, love, love.....

I guess I was more focused on the breasts than the comedy. ;)
