Behind the Screen: The Duel 2 Dailies

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I kind of felt bad for her, even though it was awkward that she just sat there with her head in her hands right after she lost. I personally prefer her over the 3 girls that were in the final and I'm probably the only person who feels that way. I'd feel a bit angry too if I just lost and people were bouncing around in front of me.
You are not alone; I prefer Diem, too.

I don't.

On Paula, I think she is intelligent. She appears to be well spoken. She's just an insecure mess always desperate for attention. I don't like the Duel Dish because I feel like Ryan and Paula just want to gossip and say anything, even if isn't true. It seems petty. They claimed on their little dish that Kim and Dunbar were living together, yet on the after show it seemed to be far from the truth. And Ryan wasn't even there long on the Duel II, yet he seems to have inside info on everyone and just loves to gossip.

Prefer it or not. The 3 girls who made it to the finals deserved it.

Thats why I don't like Ryan. He's worse than the the girls, he just gossips way to much. I always think about Shane whenever someone talks about Ryan because I remember Ryan was kind of like a stalker fan who dated Shane, then ended up on Fresh Meat. And it cracked me up how nobody wanted to be his partner because that was the first person they wanted out of there. I miss Shane! I don't understand what happened with Paula. She was a mess on her season (but likeable), and then on the Duel, Inferno 3, and Gauntlet 3 she was cool. Then the Island came and all hell broke loose. I hate the Duel Dish because none of those people were there long enough to even know what really happened. Its really dumb, actually.

He gave it back to her on the episode before that, too. After she supposedly gave it back to him.
Right. I was just pointing out that she clearly has her ring in the daily, which disputes what Paula said. I wasn't saying that was when he gave it back to her for the first time following the fight.

Did anyone see the daily clip after Diems Duel? Evan picks up Brad, and starts running with him and everyone is happy. Diem's all "Can't you wait until you get to the top of the hill to celebrate?" Sorry, Diem, but that was hilarious.
I laughed at that one too. There seems to be quite a correlation between Diem being eliminated from challenges and her minor tantrums.

LOL, I was secretly thinking "please Diem don't go back to that, we like you much better this way!"

I agree that Ryan just seems to be one of those people who loves the drama and gossip on these shows. It almost feels like he is someone who is a mega fan who just ended up on the challenges and gets to interact with these people. I'm not saying that because he is a FM person, because the others don't really come across that way. And I know some RW/RR people have said they were fans of the show before they were cast, and I know some people like to gossip on the shows, but he just comes across differently to me. I remember when people were deciding whether or ot to vote off Tonya on The Island, he said something about keeping her because she's crazy. It seemed he was acting like a friend to her, but just wanted her around for his own amusement. I know it can get boring without TV, music, or nice amenities (on that challenge), so I can see someone wanting entertaining people around, but he just comes across as disingenuous and slightly obnoxious sometimes. And speaking of Ryan, I saw today's daily clips. One of them asks what would you like to say to a cast member, and MJ picked Nick as one of the people and was making fun of him losing to Ryan. Did they not know his hand was broken? I don't think Nick was guaranteed to win without a broken hand, but seeing as though Elevator was pulling with your hands, I think that could have been a part of Nick's losing.

I would think so, but you never know what MTV is thinking.
