Behind the Screen: Dexter: Season 6

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Apparently Season 8 is going to be the conclusion of the series. and that makes me sad, but I really hope that Deb finds out about Dexter...

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Seriously news like that ruins my day. EDIT: They said it could not be the end. Just probably will be, but as long as there is hope.

Tonight's episode was fantastic as per usual, but next week will for sure be one of the best it seems. For some reason I thought next week would be the finale, but it's two weeks and that makes me happy. Travis is just a psychopath and I find it very interesting. Tonight's episode also had multiple hysterical moments with Deb cursing in the church being one of them. I'm also starting to wonder what's up with Louis. He's got to have a deeper storyline than just having the ice truck killer's hand that Masuka accidentally sold on Ebay. And I'm so glad Deb is finding out about the Matthew case. Makes the story way better. PS: Still have my fingers crossed that LaGuerta will bite the dust.

I didn't think this episode was really all that great. I feel like the Doomsday killer storyline is getting drawn out to long but it was Dexter so it still was an exciting hour. I'm thinking Louis' hand case doesn't mean much but I'm interested to know what Batista is going to do when he wakes up. I have a feeling 2 people are going to die (important people) before this season is over.

Here are two wild and crazy guesses... 1. Louis is actually Brian's unknown protegee. He made the game to impress Dexter. He will kill Jaime and will be around next season as part of the plot. 2. Matthews finds out that Deb is on to him. He plans on eliminating her. Dexter rides in to save the day, but Deb finally sees his dark passenger. Deb kills Matthews just as Dexter arrives. The season's finishing scene is Dexter with Deb on the Slice of Life, unloading trash bags of Matthews into the Atlantic...

I thought the episode was brilliant, but the only problem I have with it is the Deb/Dexter love thing that the therapist thinks. I definitely didn't see that one coming. Despite them not being blood related, I honestly can't see it ever happening. The episode was interesting, yet very suspenseful. I mean, we all know Dexter isn't going to die, especially if they picked it up for two more seasons, but who knows. The Travis storyline could well lead into another season based off of previews for next week, but I highly doubt it. The Louis storyline on the other hand, more likely leading to next season. He's an interesting character who's motive we have yet to see. Hopefully they give us some hints next week.

Interesting episode indeed. I'm thinking that Louis is being set up as the big bad for next season. Now instead of studying serial killers for his game, he's going to actually become one. Can't wait for the finale next week!

I'm not sure how I feel for Deb's secret Dexter lust (although it is funny in an art imitating life kind of way.) I could see them going with that route being in the end they are pretty much all each other has in the way of real support in life. Still, the idea at first glace doesn't sit well as even though they are not blood related they are still brother and sister. I agree that Louis is probably being set up as the next big bad guy and he will be perfect being he has a lot of the skills Dexter possesses and also conveniently works in a crime lab. LaGuerta is so annoying and selfish at this point, I hope she's his first victim...

Just a guess.. I have a feeling. That the babysitter (Sadly) will get killed by Louis. And it will be brutal kill, Dexter has an idea of Louis but can't do anything about it because he's in the lab and knows how to cover his tracks. And Louis is taunting Dex with the Ice Truck Killer hand which probably means he has some relation to Dexter's brother maybe he's Dexter's nephew? Travis won't kill Harrison and won't end up on Dexter's table but will get caught by the police. Deb is going to start realize her feelings for Dexter and try to act on it but nothing to big. She won't probably figure out about him until the final season. I say only the babysitter will be killed. Well along with Travis. But no other characters for now.

I wouldn't mind LaGuerta getting waxed as well. I actually think Travis will kill the babysitter in order to kidnap Harrison.

I would have thought that too. But in the promo for the finale. I might be wrong but it looks like Travis picked up Harrison at the school. And it looked like Louis was looking at a cheese grater when the babysitter was there in Dexter's house.

Okay, so I thought the episode was fantastic and we've been through so many scenarios and one that we mentioned before, or that I read before happened to be the cliffhanger of the season. I don't want to give too much away until you all see it, but I was kind of pissed yet happy about the ending. It was bound to happen sooner or later and we also got a taste of it last season as well during that finale with Lumen. Great season in my opinion. Especially after hearing how it was going to be heavy with religion I was very skeptic, but overall they did a great job and I cannot wait now until next season. Can't believe we have to wait until September/October though.

I think this might be the best finale yet. (Yes even after when Rita was killed) I did NOT see Deb walking in. GREAT end to a season which I was sort of skeptical on whether I thought it was good or not but this episode made me say YES it's wonderful! It's kind of fitting/funny how Dexter ended this season with "Oh God". Wow. I can't believe I witnessed this great of tv.

I have to agree with you guys. Craziest ending so far. I said Oh My God atleast 50 times (not kidding). Just in Case anyone was wondering , I believe it was picked up for a 7th AND a 8th season.

I don't know if it was the craziest ending we've seen of Dexter (Season 1 was pretty crazy, along with Season 2), but it really was up there with the best. And I believe that pick up of the seasons was mentioned in the article I posted a few weeks back, but thanks for reminding me because I can't wait for next season. It's going to be a great one I have a feeling. Mainly because they haven't even mentioned Louis at all and still have room to open his story line. I'm still very curious why he sent Dexter that hand that now sits on top of Dexter's refrigerator. Wonder how long it will be before he notices it, or Jamie finds it. Hmmmm.

Great Q&A about the finale and future Dexter with showrunner Scott Buck. Even says the entire Deb thing wasn't a dream and it was in fact real. 'Dexter' showrunner explains finale stunner, romantic twist | Inside TV | EW.com And a question we've always been asking:
The creepy computer guy (Louis). I’m assuming he mailed the hand because he’s infatuated with serial killers and Dexter, or is there something more I should be reading into that? Well, he had no idea Dexter is a serial killer — at least, not to our knowledge. I think he’s just got this weird love-to-hate thing for Dexter and has latched onto him and is seeking his approval. But to send the hand like that, we have no idea what kind of message he’s sending. At this point, it’s just to arouse our suspicion about who is this guy and what are his intentions.

I just caught the finale. Oh God! The last minute. It was amazing. The implications are huge. The tangents, many. I am ready for season 7 and this continues to be one of the top 5 dramas on TV.

Wow. Was not expecting that at all! Great ending. I personally thought this was a pretty lackluster season, but the ending was worth it. I actually kind of squirmed because I love the Dex/Deb relationship and now it'll all change! I really, REALLY do not like the idea of Deb being in love with Dexter. I guess maybe it kind of makes sense, but ew. Aren't they blood related?

Nope. Dexter was adopted by the Morgans when he was little and he has no blood relation to Deb.
LaneV95#51
I think it is sort of weird with Deb and Dex if you think about it because. They've been together since they were 3 years old taught to be family not sexual towards each other. It would be a different story if Dexter was adopted at age 14 or something or was a step brother.

Oh for some reason I thought his dad had an affair with Dexter's biological mom? Well, I know he did but actually I just remembered how that storyline played out, with Harry not taking Dexter's brother, but just Dex. So, I guess you're right they aren't blood-related. Well, that makes it a little better I guess haha.

Yep... Dexter's biological father dies in the first season. I think his name was Joseph something... lol.
