Behind the Screen: Dancing with the Stars

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I was only disappointed because you could pretty much tell at the beginning that out of the "stars" Jennifer Grey was the best one there. I think I started getting more bummed when Bristol Palin kept getting through round after round. I basically watched the first dancing episode, then watched only results shows after that. It was just a boring season and didn't really bring anything worth remembering.

I remember when the cast was first announced - the standout celebrities for me were Bristol Palin, Brandy, Florence Henderson, The Situation, and Margaret Cho. I was so disappointed when Margaret was eliminated. I'm shocked that both Audrina and Brandy didn't make it to the finals - I suppose they have Bristol to thank for that.

If she were blessed with two left feet, Margaret might have lasted longer. She has less natural rhythm than a bunch of drunk old white guys at a Bruins hockey game. Ever see those guys try to do the wave?

**** Ralph Macchio!?!?! That's it. I'm in. I've never watched this show, but now, I'm so in. *Squee!* EDIT: Yes, I am serious.
tatertots#428
AGH! You beat me to it! I was in the middle of making this. As far as I'm concerned the only person that matters is RALPH MACCHIO and he needs to win.
OtherPplsDrama#429
Taters, I agree. Me and you, we'll make a voting team.

I am going to go all "American Idol tween" on this show and make sure Ralph is grasping that disco ball trophy in the end!

Fat Actress and Cheers star Kirstie Alley
Glad to see this updated with "and Cheers star." Before - it just seemed rude, heh.

Sorry Bacchus :( I never watched Cheers...
TheSeenScene#433
Kendra, Kirstie Alley, AND Wendy Williams? My day was just made.
fabulous788#434
Oh tatertots, I'll let you have that one. I guess you can decide who I'm rooting for since I don't really care this time around :D

Wow, what a collective bunch of misfits and losers. Any cast in which Kendra looks like the winner by her mere presence is a little scary to me. I hope the "no lift" rule is in effect all season, otherwise the insurance rates for the pros are going way up. Imagine trying to lift Kirsty or Wendy!

Bahahaha. Now that is an image.

My guess is that Petra Nemcova will be paired with Dmitry Chaplin and the guy I've never heard of will be paired with Lacey.

So that's why Ralph is trending. I am surprised to see Lil Romeo on the list, as he pulled out of the first season. Though they claimed he was injured, some speculated he decided he did not want to do it at the last minute. I just hope he will be committed to it (and not practically immobile like his father).

Take it back, V, take it back... :( Ralph Macchio is not a loser. He's still very relevant and talented! And he's a wonderful human being!!
RMD1#444
Seriously this is a bad cast. Ralph and Sugar Ray Leonard are the only 2 people that will get me watching.

I agree. This cast doesn't compare to last year's cast which i think was the best. The only reason i would watch this season is to see Kirstie Alley and Wendy Williams fail EPICALLY.

I completely agree. If i had to put my money on one person to win it would probably be him.
OtherPplsDrama#447
I think my BF is kinda pissed that we have to start watching this show now because of Ralph. *shrug*
ViewRam90#448
I'm rooting for Ralph, Wendy, Kirstie and Kendra! FTW
saltvinegar#449
Go Kendra! Go Kendra! :D
ishot_JT#450
I'm sooo going for Wendy Williams this season!!! Then again I really hope her show doesn't go in hiatus due to her involvement in Dancing with the Stars because that will be horrible! :bawl:
sofrito#451
all of you are so funny! I was just watching "the karate kid 2" last week and I thought to myself when I saw him dancing in the club with the girl, " He should be on dancing with the stars" and boom! I must be psychic LOL! He's has my vote!! but I also like Wnedy and Kirsty! But whoever is with Wendy is going to look like a lil person. cuz she's an amazon!
