Behind the Screen: The City

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I'm not surprised they're setting up a spin-off; "The Hills" is reach that stale point where the cast isn't even trying to act anymore. I'm just shocked that they picked Whitney for the spin-off...

With as much camera time as they're getting lately, I would've though an Audrina and Justin Bobby show would be in order.

Exactly. Although Whitney is boring, I think she seems more real than everyone else. Hopefully the show lives up to the trailer!

It really doesn't interest me all that much mostly because it is a Hills spin-off but maybe it will be better and might be worth giving a chance. And it does pretty much have fresher faces which could help it out I guess.

I hate Justin Bobby! LOL. I'd much rather see Spencer. He brings the entertainment. Although he has toned it down a little this season. He has been extremely boring.

Spencer? Entertainment? I don't know if that really can be used together in the same breath lol

I'm sure I'll be watching as well. Or at least give it a chance. Because, well, I just can't help myself. And I'd much rather see Justin Bobby stone around town than Spencer and his Flesh-colored beard of animosity. (If I absolutely HAD to choose!) lol

I think Spencer is hilarious.

Well the reason why the Hills sucks me in is cause I'm just waiting for the moment when Heidi will break up with Spencer. Spencer is just too much for me.

That is the trick though they are never really breaking up and the world is condemned to having Speidi dance around our TV sets until they actually force them off. The City has have promise because we don't have the Hills characters that we are virtually stuck with on the Hills.

Exactly! It will be nice to have new people and get to know these new people. I just hope that Whitney won't be super boring. Although I have to say that she barely gets time on the Hills for us to really know her.

Well hopefully she would get more air time on her own show but can she carry a show by herself is the question. Those script writers better be working overtime to make this show interesting lol

So...did anybody see the previews for next week? The guy with the long hair (Not Alex) that Whitney is crushing on looks like the one from the City... interesting...

I did see that and I'm not surprised. MTV is probably setting up the City.

Spencer is quite entertaining when he is on those aftershow remixes when they are making fun of the faces he makes, LOL

He actually looks pretty hot, and has a very nice accent!

Out of my sense of obligation to the Hills, I will watch this show. But, I have to admit I am not that excited about it. I'll have to go see if the website has the preview, since I have missed the last two episodes of the Hills...

I always thought Whitney was the professional one, just using the cameras to get a decent job in the fashion industry. Certain others seemed like they were constantly auditioning for their own show, using Lauren's as a springboard. Although maybe that's WHY they didn't get a spin-off...

I am HOPING Whitney has enough integrity to not let them script her whole life. I understand they need to make a storyline out of her life, but hopefully she doesn't get the endless parade of hired boyfriends and friends that Lauren now has.

Well it will on depend on whether she can seeing as the producers of the Hills took something and ran with it all this time. Hopefully they will learn and make this one fresher with different storylines rather than the same old ones. Either way I am becoming more and more against watching it lol

Yes he is good looking. I'm so sick of all the same guys on the hills. It's always the same thing. Brody making fun of Stephanie or giving Lauren advice on who she should not be friends with. Justin being an *** to Audrina. Spencer being an *** to Heidi and just people in general. LOL I love Spencer.

This looks like a good show. I think I'll watch :). But I don't think I'll watch Brody's show, it does not look to promising to me.
