The Challenge: Summer 2014 - Discussion (Spoilers)

Can I ask a question with absolutely no snarky meaning meant? I'm a long time lurker and finally dug out my old account because I want to post on the "Send Diem Your Love" thread, but also because I'm worried about her and would like to get as many updates/as much information as possible. If we aren't supposed to talk about it on this thread, is there somewhere else on the site we should? The General thread? Or is all talk banned?

Carpedatdiem expressed my thoughts perfectly. I think all of us are okay with staying on topic but at the same time I think it becomes easier to veer off topic when we don't have another place where we can get our thoughts out about this. I feel this is kind of a special situation too. It's not your average discussion about the challenge. I know we have a special thread to honor Diem and that thread should just stay with that, but perhaps there could be a second topic created where we could discuss our general thoughts on Diem and updates on her health. Perhaps we could open up the Diem Brown thread to talk about that. I don't think people are trying to purposely irritate anyone by going off topic. I just think the fans are needing an outlet and are upset about what happened with Diem and thoughts and feelings about that are just naturally going to flow out. In other words, I don't think the majority of people who go off topic on this particular subject are thinking to themselves how can we irritate the moderators, oh let's do or say this or that. It's also easy to forget what the rules are when people are upset and worried, another good reason to have a second thread in addition to the good wishes for Diem thread. Now if we set up a thread and were talking about Diem's health issues and people were randomly putting out information about her health with no basis in fact that was incorrect then I would think those posts should be deleted but if it's known that all we are doing is wondering about things and no one knows anything for sure then I think having those posts would be fine under the Diem thread as long as it was kept respectful, kind and considerate to her situation. Perhaps if this is not possible to do, post under the Diem thread, that someone from Vevmo could set up a separate message board for people where this type of discussion could be allowed.

I have to say that I love the name you gave the thread! We keep going round and round on these forums. LOL

Whaaaat? We have people back in the US right? Are you saying it's possible for them to return? Or perhaps once you're eliminated you can somehow play your way back in but then you can also be permanently eliminated.

Maybe the final 3 vote for a team to come back for the final. Or maybe the teams who win the most eliminations come back?? Who knows!! But ahhhh! Loving all the changes, everything's so unpredictable.

Yeah I have no idea what this means, other than I hope this doesn't somehow let Johnny Bananas lose and still win -_-

I don't think it's bs if you get eliminated and then you battle another eliminated team and that gets you back into the game.

I do, you lose a elimination you deserve to go home. It's pointless to have to lose twice to go home.

But what if you're one of those teams that go in multiple times and get sent home before the finale, it'd be awesome to have an opportunity to come back.

I agree completely with stefx23. That said, has there been any update? Has anyone been to see her? Any positive news would be most welcome. :)

If it's anything like how I Love Money did it on season 1 it may be good.

Debatable. There is one season that greatly benefitted from RI (had more loved ones swapped, it would have been even more so). The Challenge is dying. It needs as many twists and turns as possible. You guys need to be a bit more optimistic.

As long as the twists arent pointless and don't reward losers. Survivor I'm fine with redemption island because they get voted off instead of losing eliminations.

You're really stuck on this huh? haha Well technically they get voted into the dome and just lose either out of luck or because they aren't good. If they stay while still being eliminated, that shows that they probably made a mistake that got them eliminated anyway haha.

What were we discussing in the other thread before some of our posts were moved over here? Let me think...oh yeah, we were giving our opinions on how MTV will handle the first episode of Battle of the Exes 2. I was just saying that I would hope it would be done in a classy way and I believe I said something like if CT were asked to give a confessional right after she was taken to the hospital that I would be wanting to say "F you" to the producers. I'm sure it killed him that he couldn't go with her when she was airlifted out and had to wait that extra day. I'm sure he was worried sick. Carpe, I've really been wanting to hear some good news as well. I'm wondering what stage the cancer is in now. I think her starting chemo sooner rather than later would be for the best but they have to wait until she is stable, I realize that. Poor Diem having to go through this all again. Her soul must get so weary of it!

I think you guys will like this twist I personally love it
