Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Rivals II - Ratings Discussion

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Susanne is a highly experienced professional who knows exactly how present ratings become a factor in the equation creating future advertising rates. From that perspective you are correct with regard to other current MTV programs, however, what Wall Street looks at in its evaluation of VIACOM stock are what past ad rates/program ratings meant for past stock price history. NBC's branded cable channels are currently kicking MTV Network's butt. Daniels was brought in to elevate the position of the network and achieve a greater return on investment for the stockholders. So far, the jury is out on any improvement. The "professional" majority cast of the next challenge may, in fact, represent her influence, since it's the kind of casting BMP has never done before.
You should know by now how much I like your inside scoops, but could you please explain what "professional" mean in this sentence. People, who deliver drama, people who know how to act in front of a camera, people who have fans or a Fresh Meat 3 where the fresh meat are actors? I would be very thankful.

If I answered you completely, it would be a spoiler for the San Fran RW season. In short, this is mostly a cast that comes out of professional casting circles and not from individuals who have long had a passion for RW. Survivor has been doing this for the past several seasons. Even people on the streets of San Fran have figured this out with several smart people noting on line that the cast was being given direction from production just like so many scripted shows shot in the city.

You're all forgetting that The Challenge requires incredible set ups and probably a large budget to accommodate that and prize money. Ridiculousness costs nothing to make outside of Rob Dyrdek's contract

Thirty seconds of homework in the official ratings thread would have told you that you were wrong.

Why do they need to do homework to be told they're wrong when you and so many others will take such glee in telling them they're wrong? Wouldn't want to take away your fun! :)
