The Challenge: Rivals II: Confessional Thread

I applaud the effort. :positive:You may want to think a bit more about this and determine what is a "confessional" (a room in a RW house), an OTF interview, or a green screen interview. They all have different purposes to help tell/sell the storyline, and it appears you have lumped all of them together in one category.

The "star" of this season, which I wouldn't say star but the main person in this season is clearly CT, everything so far kind of evolves around him. Then I'd say people that are like 2nd main people on this season are Diem,Frank,Knight, and Zach. They clearly have gotten alot of air time the past two episodes.

MTV has this weird need to ruin an entertaining cast member by shoving him down our throats. They did it with Paula, Wes, Kenny & Evan (before all the allegations), now with CT... It was all fun when he'd just returned and he was like a born again rookie, but they need to chill, they make CT the center of every season he's on now, and it's already getting old. They obviously don't know the definition of the word moderation. Something I noticed about the production/editing: the show looks very cheap, the Rivals II sign in front of the house is really weird to me.

Yes and we all know the diva Frank needs, his spotlight and he wants to be the center of attention, that's probably why he hates CT, because the spotlight is on CT and he's the center of attention.

Both of you have touched on something that I said in another thread. So much Focus is on CT and it's getting tiring. We don't hardly get a chance to see anyone else. I mean where's Emily? Where's Aneesa? Where's Leroy? Where's Robb? This is how it was on the last Rivals. I'm sick of everything being about CT. There are a dozen of other people on this challenge...This is why nobody really knows any of the newer cast members..Because they're too busy shoving tired old vets down our throats.

Exactly, not even Wes or Johnny Bananas are even getting that much air time. How in the hell in these last two episodes you have someone like Ana getting more airtime then Wes and Johnny. It's just because she involved with CT

First off, Thank you for the applause and all the likes I received. Secondly, from now on I will count everything (even if the castmember is being interrupted with a new scene) as one individual confessional whenever someone is speaking directly to the camera/viewers since this is were the fourth wall is been broken and the realness is gone. For example: When CT says directly to the camera/viewer (And he says a lot this season): I don't know what to think about her...Scene with Diem laughing with other girls interrupts him...(back to CT in front of the cam/viewer) :"...and her little game she's playing with me." As this example shows, I'll count this as two confessionals for CT since you saw him two times speaking/talking to the viewer/camera and for the sake of simplicity (As BMP/MTV is doing with there shows) I'll continue with lumping everything into one category since most of us here have no clue what's the difference are between them. I think MTV and mostly BMP has been focussing on CT simple because he might be the only one there who was there to entertain the viewer and was willing to do something right from the gecko. He was there to have fun. Let's review a bit: CT came into this season as a huge fan favorite, a hero with a big fanbase and he was heavy promoting the season unlike others who some of you want to see. Some just doesn't want to be involved in the drama in the beginning (Leroy even said he goes into every season with the same strategy: Be cool with everyone, stay out of the drama and the others will take you to the final), some couldn't because they had bf/gf back home (They couldn't get the women vote, the producers wanted them to get) and let's not forget, this is the first time where CT has being hooking up with someone and his ex gf Diem is there with him since the biggest fight in Challenge history. I think you have to wait, because I'm sure CT will lay down a bit now.

I think Wes/Johnny/Emily/Paula etc will get more air time as the show goes on (if they make it far)remember Cara Maria/Jenn/Wes/Laurel/Tyler were kind of irrelevant in the beginning of rivals 1 then became the center of attention, I think Wes is still getting air time, a bit more than Johnny but of course its cause he's with CT, everything Wes says is commenting about how nuts CT is but I guess since thats all theyre showing then I guess its appropriate.

Did you just say Wes didn't get alot of airtime in the beginning of Rivals 1... are you ******* serious he probably got the most airtime out of everyone that season, but it was not like CT on Rivals 2 where everything evolved around him. Here's exactly how Rivals 1 was it was basically Wes,Kenny,Evan, and Johnny (The Mob) vs CT. Rivals 2 is basically just the CT show.

Forgot Ty was there, not surprised he and Leroy don;t have airtime (yet).

For the 1st few episodes Wes got a lot of attention for his comments in his interviews not so much stuff he did during the episodes, he didnt do much early on, him and CT argued but that was it, and the mob vs CT was the main story line through out the whole show so obviously JEK/Wes got air time for that, there wasnt anything else happening politically

Well look at it this way in the first episode Adam R. and Ty got the most air time so it's debateable.

Good thread. Wish we had one last season to track how little airtime sexy Ashley got.

I suppose Marlon is going to shoot high on the next update.

Well...her partner had to leave the house and she was left alone, she got a new partner with whom she had to do the first elimination round. She was one of the few girls that actually got some spotlight. If you look at it, there're only four girls in the top 15 right now even though at this point more girls were eliminated than boys:D. I hope BMP decide to give more girls the spotlight now, espacially Camilla since she got a "They're back" commercial, but has almost no screen time.

Now that you think about it. I find that Hilarious. They wasted a whole commercial on her and she's basically been ignored so far. That's funny.

Man Leroy and Ty really have been buried so far this season. Surprised Marlon and is ranking so high too, they really made this his episode.

That's her last name. She goes by that because there was already a Heather on her season when she replaced Adam.

I feel like most people agree with you, but for some reason I've always liked her even since her debut on LV2. This is her first season and she has a lot going on with losing and gaining a partner, as well as competing in the first female elimination round. That is why she was given so much air time. Personally rooting for her and Cara until the end, as they are one of the only legitimate threats to Emily and Paula. They've already been dominating the show as everyone knew they would, and I'd really hate to see Paula get carried again by an elite partner to a cheap win (although I'm certain it's going to happen).

So far the only girls who have been getting alot of screen time overall is Diem,Cooke,Ana,Trishelle, and Jemmye. Guy's wise it's basically CT,Knight, and somewhat Marlon.

Not even somewhat, Marlon's been getting a load of camera time and narratives.

Trishelle? Literally the ONLY screentime she got is when she quit and now she's gone. Paula, Theresa, and Aneesa have gotten more screentime than her.

Paula and Theresa what, the only time you see Paula is during the daily challenges. and Theresa is usually just sitting there trying to calm someone down. Aneesa maybe but, Trishelle played a big role in both Episode 2 and Episode 3.
