Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Rivals - Evan Starkman

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Original Season: The Challenge: Fresh Meat Status: Veteran Challenges Won: The Duel 2 and The Ruins Rival Teammate: Nehemiah Clark MTV Bio: Last seen snatching the championship belt away from Brad by mere seconds on Duel 2, Evan marks his return to The Challenge, claiming to be, "A little older and a little wiser." But this veteran competitor has made more than his share of enemies during his dominance on multiple Challenges and there are many players who would consider Evan a rival. So what is Evan's reaction when he discovers who his rival partner is? Evan confesses, "If he were to fall off a tall building and I was the only one to see it, I wouldn't tell anyone." Despite his less-than-thrilled reaction to his partner, never underestimate this Fresh Meat master manipulator.

aha didn't even see that, MTV really didn't try hard on these bios. I think about half of them had incorrect stuff in them.

When have they ever tried hard on anything related to the challenges or The Real World? Half the dailies have wrong names in them the majority of the time...

I like Evan. Seems like he always angles himself into a pickle which is funny to me.

I know alot of these "rivalries" are composed of a few seconds of camera footage but it's starting to look like there was/is genuine animosity and hatred between Evan and Nehemiah, and maybe more went down on the Duel II apart from the swearing that the camera's caught. On the Duel 1 they were joking around with each other and the only real interaction they had on the Gauntlet 3 was when they faced off in the "I Dig You" challenge and Evan uncovered like 13 of this teammates while Nehemiah only had to rescue 7, even then it still seemed friendly.

Evan looks like he's lost weight.

Yes, and I think he just looks so good on this picture.

I was wondering why he looked so different in this picture...less than thrilled to see him on this Challenge.

He looks like his skin has been fashioned with some sort of futuristic polymer like in the movie "The Surrogates". All these photos of these cast members are suspect, seeings as how most of them look plastic.
DaLeadBull#12
Yea all of these photos are touched up like crazy. Just look at Paula's pics, there is no way Paula's skin is that clear.

I just realized how clever he is. In whole his Challenge history, Evan had two girls: Coral and Veronica. Both of them were legends.

He's had sex with more challengers.

How illuminating... (Yes, that's sarcasm dripping from those two words...)

He looks like he has moobs (********).

He looks like he has moobs (*************] Wait, are you implying that he might also have sex with himself? :o

I just assumed it was an old picture. He looks younger in this photo than I recall him looking.

Photoshopping will do that. Here is an enlargement of the MTV pic and a closeup of the area above both eyebrows. User image User image For anyone with experience in facial editing using either Photoshop or ACDSee Pro, there are numerous telltales regarding the cleaning up of the face. Unless he was using heavy professional makeup, including the addition of numerous freckles to match his existing ones, the normal blemishes and lines one sees in nearly everyone over about age 20 are missing. The only lines seen are visible in the neck, and these, too, appear airbrushed. The technique used above the eyebrows appears to be use of Photoshop's "healing brush."

I bet you'd be good at restoring damaged photos. You should start on online version of Glamor Shots :paint2:

Evan is hilarious. I can so picture him saying exactly that about Neihmiah. I am not a fan to Neimiah. I don't like how he treated Rachel on his original season (RW: Austin) and I have yet to be impressed with him on The Challenges.

Obviously not..... I dislike Nehemiah also... he has too much of an attitude for me. I do love Evan though and I am hoping he did well in this challenge.

And that's the downside. Someone you like being paired with someone you completely dislike. What to do, what to do? Hmmm.

Yes, exactly, and I don't feel he's earned the right to have all that attitude. He needs to step back a bit and learn his place. Like what he said to Rachel about Iraq was not cool. Regardless of how you feel about war, etc. it's absurd to talk like that to someone who has actually been over there and served in this war, trying to tell her what goes on from the comfort of your couch. & he kind of acts the same way on challenges, he's never made it past half of the season on challenges, but he talks all this crap like he knows what's up. It's irritating.

Agreed with everything you said, but the bold part is wrong cause he won the gauntlet 3. Not that they really deserved that win but whatever

ohh that's right. I completely forgot about that.
alucard666#30
Nehemiah hasn't done anything relevant in challenges, he was in the duel 1, the gauntlet 3 and the duel 2 and he didn't do anything, in fact he was horrible in missions, i remember one mission in the Gauntlet 3, when he had to take out the rest of the rookies team who were buried in the sand and he blew it. He is a posser, he always acts like he was an kind of gansta raper,

Wow!! You actually know a ganster RAPER that u can compare him too? On another note, this is Evan's thread and I hope he brings his funny comments this time around. But I agree with you ont he Nehemiah is weak count. Evan definitely has his work cut out for him. I mean, at least if you have a bad attitude, be a good competitor... like Laurel. But you can't have both a horrible attitude and be a weak competitor... you just can't.
