Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Free Agents - Laurel Stucky

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

lol i agree he didn't care at all.I think Theresa did, but her worries were coming from being knowingly shady I think. And Devyn seemed to be a little verklempt too.

After listening to Johnny on after buzz, I feel like 90% of laurel's problems could be solved if she just talked to whoever she was voting in before she did it.

Yeah but what would the fun in that be? Why would you tell someone, "hey i'm voting you in"

I mean, Bananas still acted mad at Johnny for voting him in, even though on the podcast he said in actuality there was no animosity between them because Johnny let him know beforehand. So I think for the viewer it can still be fun, while not causing actual damage to relations between players? I don't know though man lol.

I have a feeling players telling the other person is just to let them know and hopefully cover their *** if the other player won.

I was hoping that Laurel would pull an Emily(Second Adventure) and leave right after Jordan. But didn't happen.

THAT would be a game changer....that I'm sure many of the women would enjoy except maybe Cara

That would've been dumber than Jordan's move lol

It's still tripping me out that Jordan was waiting for Laurel to ask him not to flip the cards lol. It's like he had never met her or something.
audreyhorne#42
Also, Laurel is not his mother. He's a big boy and should not need her to tell him what to do.

Exactly!! Like if you're not confident, that's enough of a reason not to go through with it. Laurel isn't responsible for his stupid moves.

this is my argument for people saying Jordan made a bold move. No he didn't. A man whose really not scared to go in would never doubt himself nor ask opinions of others. He was suckered into going in by the big dogs and he didn't want to look like a punk. Kudos to zach

I'm in total agreement. CT and Zach laid in on thick. Johnny R was duped too.

That's what you get when your mouth likes to run wild but your spirit isn't built the same. He was NEVER going to vote himself in until people started speaking about how he should. You saw the look on his face when he was up to flip the cards, it had "damn, I really set my self up" all over it.

Even Cara should have enjoyed that...Cara & Theresa would have been heavy favorites at that point But Laurel's not as ridiculous as Emily. Debut just wants Laurel to quit because "she's not a real cast member" and because she's pretty much a lock to win barring some miracle.

DA wants every Fresh meat "non cast member" to quit and die into challenge oblivion-

My friend is catching up with this season and just asked me why the other girls are so content with playing for second place lol. But I don't know what else they could do to try and get Laurel out. They voted for her the 1 out of the 2 times it was an option.

Well, Devyn was simply stupid I do find it funny that people thought Laurel would target Theresa because of her "non-vote" but Laurel's first chance she went for Aneesa. Laurel can keep saying that she doesn't care who comes back but she wanted Aneesa & Jonna out first...then Theresa & Camila. Two down--two to go. Personally, I don't think Laurel would be upset at all if Cara's taken out either.

Laurel's sense of competition is to destroy all opponents. She even joked on the 1st episode to Cara how she might have to take her out depending upon how things went. Cara did not look too happy so Laurel tried to make a vampire joke out of it unsuccessfully. She went after Aneesa because that's one who complained about her and Jordan having sex in the room.

Think the challenge last week gave us a good idea of the ranking of those left - given that it was the first individual (non-trivia) challenge. Laurel 1st, Cara 2nd, Jessica 3rd. Would be very surprised to see either Laurel or Cara miss the final.

Jessica 3rd is interesting. She's not as bad of a competitor as I thought but I think she's lucked into a lot of her wins this season. I'd definitely take (of who's left) Theresa over her, probably Nany, and possibly Aneesa.
Desertpuma#54
I'd take Nany but I think Theresa has improved her game with the exception of her politics
riggins#55
I'm still not convinced that Theresa is that great. I don't know if it's just because I don't like her, but she's leagues behind Cara Maria to me. I would almost put her and Nany on the same level.

I'm not saying she is great but she has improved

I think she's much better at athletic stuff, than doing crazy stuff like running in a giant bubble or rolling in plastic wrap. She's not a standout competitor, but she's not a bad team mate to fill out a team.
LHarkins#58
I'd take Theresa over every girl this season bar Laurel, Cara Maria and Aneesa. Nany and Jessica both have potential, but need more training/strength before they can really be seen as a threat. But yeah so far Laurel has steamrolled the competition in both her physical and political performances. She's got the other girls either as best friends, begging at her feet or running scared of potential backlash.

I would take Nany/Jessica over Theresa...She still hasn't proved nothing to me in 5 shows. She is a tall girl and a college athlete but that's it with her. She hasn't done anything in the physical or social aspect of the game.
LHarkins#60
I think her win against Camilla is an achievement regardless of Camilla's mental state at the time, and the same point of not really doing anything could also be applied to Jessica and Nany in my opinion. Jessica's she-hulking of Anastasia was relatively impressive but still came far too late into the challenge to matter. And in terms of Theresa's social game, having no-one swing at her and Jasmine in Rivals 2 is quite impressive, although I will admit she needs to be more of a long term thinker in regards to voting in the future (See: her throwaway vote(s) in Rivals 2 and backing out of voting Laurel in this season), I see the logic in her decisions, but I don't think she takes an consequences into consideration. But the same could be said for Jessica in trying to play Laurel/Jordan and Aneesa at the same time and then her bluff getting called when it came down to Latoya and Aneesa. And I can't remember a single social thing Nany has done.

But typically that's the person who's good at the game. A lot of people have said that Kenny is one of if not the best political/social gamesmen on the shows and you don't really see a lot of the "moves" he makes. I think there's a talent in knowing how to pick and chose friends based on who has the power to mess you up down the line. Maybe that's Nany's skill set too.
