Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Free Agents - Dustin Zito

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

You said name one elimination round. This season, CT has him beat and Johnny not so sure. I have to see if he has improved from rivals 2 but most likely the same thing with CT. But like I said, these two were irrelevant to the topic.

But that depends highly on your partner and team work rather then individual skill, you can do great and pull really far then hold your breath but if you can't communicate with your partner chances are you're losing that one. I said that Dustin couldn't beat any strong people in a elimination then someone else said he could not you so I was answering them....

You were the person to mention CT and Johnny to me though. When the whole conversation was focused on comparing Dustin's past performances. communicating is key, but if you can't holding your breath underwater and use your strength to pull your partner down you're not going to go anywhere or have any progress.

I've only been watching this show for a few seasons and I don't actually remember things like the names of eliminations. But I'll try to answer anyway: anything that is more than just brute force.

I'll help you. Dustin would probably smoke ct and johnny in hall pass. A pure running elimination from exes. Ct and Johnny have both shown running isn't their best.
Challenge 17#37
I still don't think Dustin is that good, maybe he will prove me wrong or more likely he won't. He's just average or slightly above average in my book

When has CT shown running "isn't his best". He seems to be one of the faster guys on the show, despite the fact that he is also one of the biggest.

The oil thing is just an excuse. Oil doesn't negate the fact that much bigger, taller guy should have defeated him easily.
Are you serious? So you're saying that having oil all over your body has no effect when someone is trying to take you down? The ignorance..... Zito isn't that good of a competitor I mean he's solid but doesn't stand a chance against someone like CT or Leroy.

Plus the fact the floor of the oil pit was so slippery it was really hard to get footing. I liked oil change but it sound have been on sand

Honestly I think Dustin has done more to prove himself then Leroy. I understand Dustin not having a chance against someone like CT but against Leroy? Unless it requires strength, it could go either way some things probably catering more to Dustin since he is better in he water, probably better in puzzles too. I think Dustin is above average or slightly above average depending on what the challenge/elimination is.

I think Dustin is a Solid/Average competitor In the 2 challenges he's been he wasn't a horrible competitor. I think he will be the same this challenge.

Guys can we please keep the CT and Johnny discussions in their respective threads...this ones becoming less and less about Dustin with each post.

Exes: He and Heather were always one of the better teams. Seasons 2: Always did well in the missions and killed anything involving swimming. Even people who disliked him mentioned on podcasts how well he did in the water elimination. He's not great, but the only men who are absolutely above him are CT and Johnny this challenge, unless I'm forgetting someone. I mean Brandon, Issac, Chet? Not exactly big threats. And speaking of Zach, dude has been the biggest disappointment in these challenges.

I think people expected so much more from Zach but to be honest he's a beast and an athlete and in the end he did beat CJ and finished his elimination game faster than Ty and Leroy. Zito is tied with Frank and Leroy IMO.

He didn't beat CJ. He won because Jasmine got 0 wins against Sam. But I do agree, he did redeem himself on rivals 2 & I hope he does so again in this challenge.

I never said it had "no effect," actually, ever. Are you saying that the smaller, weaker guy has an advantage in that situation then?

Right so it was really hard for them both to get footing==dustin had the advantage. I see.

No I never said anyone had the advantage..... but if it was like beach brawl from the gauntlet 2 then Zach would have won.

How? He won two missions catered to himself and Trey and on Seasons, one mission was thrown to them and the other mission Frank won for them. Anyway,JayTree Frank is probably the most impressive newer male IMO. He's shown to be better than Leroy, Zach, and Dustin.

I totally agree, people overlook Frank's abillities because they don't like him, but to me he is the best new schooler competitive wise. Dustin is solid, but is not that impressive to me.

I have a problem when people say things like "if such and such happened, then so and so would win". You don't know that. You can guess that, and yes, they probably would, but you can't say FOR SURE, so and so would win in a certain situation.

So basically she's denying that they made a pact? I'm not understanding her point.

Yeah, that they didn't make a pact that either MTV or Dustin was lying on that bio. If their is another exes 2, I wouldn't Mind seeing Heather/Dustin together again especially after hearing the amount of drama and bad feeling they have toward each other lol Even though I doubt Heather would do another challenge especially being on the same team with Dustin.

Hm, it'll be interesting to see who was lying once we see Dustin and Jessica fling unfold and they pull him aside for his interview. I don't see Heather doing challenges at all, she seems to have no interest in it. But it would be great to see them again with them two actually being exes this time around. Or better yet, Dustin and Cooke.
PlatosCave#57
I think Dustin and Heather would be ideal for Exes 2 - that format really needs some couples that had a significant relationship give it any emotional resonance. The original Exes worked because they had a few couples with an actual meaty backstory that carried the show (e.g., CT and Diem). Heather and Zito could fill that spot even though they were briefly also on Exes 1. The problem for an Exes2 is that they would have to now draw from Real World seasons to get a real set of Exes (Robb/Marie, Ashley/Zach, Jemmye/Knight, Avery/Johnny) to make it mean anything. The new Challenges just spawn short-lived hook-ups that seem made-for-tv. The only exceptions came from the Cuthroat/Duel/Guantlet era (Diem/CT, Cara/Abram, and Tori/Brad, Wes/Kellyanne, etc. - all of whom are no longer exes except Wes/Kellyanne). Dustin/Cooke would make no sense. They just shared a kiss and don't have any real issues or backstory that would make for the kind of emotional drama/issues that would fuel the format of that kind of a challenge.

Neither did any of the rest of the cast (Jasmine/Tyrie, Paula/Dunbar, Leroy/Naomi, Emily/Ty, Johnny/Camila, and the list goes on ect.) and you're not going to get a full 100% real relationships for Exes 2 unless they invite the whole explosion cast. I said Dustin and Cooke because they don't speak/ aren't on good terms. Even though they never had a legit relationship, they've been avoiding each other for years now. Better choice than Jessica, I can tell you that. There was no emotional background except for Diem and CT telling their story. The rest was drama.

Cool but it wasn't and he didn't, so what's your point? The fact that it wasn't a traditional wrestling match doesn't change the fact that it was still a physical competition.

Heather is not going to do another challenge, she made it clear on her blog, she wants to have a career and the challenge lifestyle is just not for her, I didn't know there was drama between dustin and heather, by reading heather blog it seems that it was a clean break up and they wanted to be cordial with each other. And I'm glad the hook up between dustin and jessica stayed on the challenge, jessica is annoying and knowing her she probably would be bragging about their relationship only for atention kind of the whole "princess hulk" thing

I didn't know there was drama between Heather & Dustin either? Where are you getting that from?
