Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Mark Long

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I hope I look at least half as awesome as Mark when I'm his age...

Mark and Robin

Mark and Robin first met while on opposing teams during the Battle Of The Sexes 2. Their relationship was short-lived, but the two maintained a steady friendship. Over the years, the former lovebirds have gone their separate ways, with Mark pursuing a TV hosting career and Robin proudly embracing single-motherhood and looking forward to "the opportunity to come to a Challenge and make money to better my life." When reunited as a team, Robin is thrilled at her still muscle-bound ex, who she touts as, "Balanced, calm, and an overall great athlete." But a disappointed Mark recalls his partner's horrible Challenge record, lamenting, "Getting Robin as a partner is like getting dealt a ****, and you can only shine and polish a **** so much." Will this veteran odd couple be able to overcome their different viewpoints and battle their way to Challenge victory?

LOL. He's actually the same age as my mom and dad too but I'm 24 so I don't see it as that old. (My parents started young). I would still hit that.

Looks like you and I are on the same boat. I'm 24 too and I would definitely hit that, haha. My dad is also Mark's age, small world.

I know right? As if they're never thought anyone on TV was hot. Prudes.

I really enjoyed seeing the clips from BOTS2 and Inferno 2 on the pre-game special of him and Robin. The quality was SO GOOD! I think they enhanced it to make it HD.

"the vevmo people..." HAHAHAHAHAHA If not for his present GF, Mark would probably be asking me to find your phone/pics for him. The man is legend, but just not publicly boa****l about it like Mr. Banana Man

RJ, Looking back at this a day later, neither do I... ****, but I think I intended the word to read "boasting."

So someone on Cara Maria's formspring claims that Mark did a *****...have I been out of the loop or is this a lie?

I think I'd know if Mark had done that. He appeared in one of our "Sexiest Women of Reality TV" shows for iNDEMAND (PPV). It was TV-MA, but certainly not a *****. Maybe the author of the question was 12 when he/she saw that video with parental permission. :)

Seems that you may be incorrect. IMDb shows a movie of his that falls under the following plot keywords: "Gangster Sex Swimming Pool Softcore Erotica"

No, I'm right. To be accurate, what you posted are only the "keywords" for this 91 minute film, Guarded Secrets, which is officially categorized as a thriller.. Keywords are usually highly subjective judgments designed to help market the film. Mark plays a lead character, Bradley Pace, who like thousands of other actors before and since, has simulated sex on camera. The film's official rating by the MPAA is R for "Strong Sexual content and language." If it were ****, they would have not rated by the MPAA. It didn't even earn the dreaded NC-17 rating, and only a three on the old "spank-worthy" scale. Some other actors in the film include mainstream Hollywood people: -Lesli Kay (Young and the Restless, Ghost Whisper, Raising the Bar, The Bold and the Beautiful, CSI, Venice, the Series, As the World Turns, etc). - Michael Russo (one of the best known stunt coordinators in the TV/Film business -- National Treasure, A Beautiful Mind, Carlito's Way, etc), and -Billy Maddox (Fuel, Pasty Faces [British comedy/farce], The Insider, Strong Medicine, Judging Amy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, JAG, and Santa Barbara) It's not ****... although I think the guys at Vivid should definitely make him an offer. I imagine there is a market out there for the "official" Mark Long sex tape... and I think one of their earlier projects, Kim something is available. They have a mutual friend in Ryan Seacrest.

A Google search shows that its full category is "erotic thriller" and that it was made for the Playboy channel. It's a softcore ****. Actors can get their start in softcore and make it to bit parts, as you most likely saw when reviewing their IMDbs but chose to subjectively leave out. Ms. Kay made appearances in "Hot Line", Cyberella: Forbidden Passions, and of course her memorable turn in Women: Stories of Passion. The production company behind Guarded Secrets, Mystique Films Inc., also made such films as Sheer Passion, Club Wild Side, Club Wild Side 2, and The Sexperiment. No one disputed the legitimacy of the short film his fellow castmate, Tonya Cooley starred in for Cinemax. It is softcore ****. There's no need to downplay Mr. Long's former lead role in a softcore ****. The Internet Movie Database certainly doesn't.

I didn't downplay anything. The fact is that the MPAA rating is what drives my opinion. It's rated R since it was presented to the MPAA as a film for general cinema release. Tonya's was TV-MA, and further out on the spectrum of "almost ****" -- body suits and all. Yawn...

There is actually a difference between erotic thriller and softcore ****. Also, just because a film is made for the Playboy channel, it does not automatically make it a "*****". (Not everything about Playboy is *****graphy-- a nude woman is not necessarily ****.) Technically, anything created specifically to arouse is considered *****graphy. An R-rated erotic thriller contains arousing scenes but is not the base of the film. A softcore ***** is all about arousal; hence, the X rating. IMDb does not make decisions regarding categories, the MPAA does. So if the MPAA gave the movie an R rating, while IMDb may describe it as softcore ****, it is not a softcorn *****. NOT that there is anything wrong with softcore ****, especially involving the delicious Mark Long. But calling an erotic thriller what is legitimately, per the MPAA, an erotic thriller is not downplaying. And someone outright calling it a *****, as they did on Cara Maria's Formspring, is wrong. Simulated sex and shirtless Mark? I may just have to search for this fine film...

I’ve been really disappointed by Mark’s attitude so far this challenge. It could be due to editing, but he seems sooo full of himself, and he’s very disrespectful to Robin. I understand he’s done a lot for himself, but I would expect someone who everyone looks up to him as the “godfather of The Challenge” to be a better role model.
