Behind the Screen: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Dunbar Merrill

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

No love for ole Dummy Bear. I might be in the minority here, but I actually like the kid, it annoys me he's with Paula though, partly because she's just coming off a win...

Technically, so is he. Although I'm still not sure if the rumors about him being denied his winnings were true...

Paula was attracted to Dunbar on their first show together, The Island, and the twosome had a fleeting hookup. Later on The Duel II, after a jealous Paula caught Dunbar kissing opposing team member Kimberly, she successfully orchestrated Kimberly's elimination, causing Dunbar to dub Paula, "the worst friend he's ever had." Ever since then, their relationship has been rocky at best, as Paula clearly states, "What did I do in life to end up being attached to this man? I cannot be with him! He's annoying and obnoxious." Dunbar, as well, seems to be worried about his newest partner, professing, "Paula needs to learn to trust and listen to me. And that's probably not going to happen because -- oh yeah -- she hates me!" It seems as though the only thing this pair of exes can agree upon is their mutual hatred.

So, once and for all, can anyone answer this eternal question? Did Dunbar get the 40k from Cutthroat or not? If not, then why.

Dunbar and Paula are the only pair to both be champions.Yet so far they have nor performed well at all. I imagine he makes it somewhat far, since Paula is aligned with Johnny, but I do not see him winning this one. The fact he won Cutthroat is almost baffiling.

Why wouldn't he get his money? Weird story.

I really like Dunbar. He takes himself a wee bit too seriously at times but he's overall cool. He complains a lot, but I'm a big complainer, too, so I don't mind that type of personality.

It's was so funny to see how everyone makes jokes about what Dunbar hates. I never liked him and I don't think we will ever see him again on challenges because he was really boring.

With this direct and humorous book, Merrill has made a clarion call for a new era in American society, that first honestly states what liberalism and conservatism are, and then comes forth with a provocative, well-reasoned, robust, and informed commentary. With his love of our country and the legacy of our Founding Fathers accurately reflected throughout, Merrill’s galvanizing comments provide a funny, philosophical, historical, and practical framework for revitalizing the modern, progressive vision for the U.S. and moving us all forward together with un-crazy, realistic goals.

I was considering picking up a copy, but then realized it didn't come in extra soft, double ply.
