Behind the Screen: Californication

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

I never know when this is on, and I've only caught one episode this season and I freakin' died laughing. I'm going to have to find the DVD for season 1 the next time I hit Walmart...

Californication

RockSteadyVybes ·
I'm watching WAY too many shows, some of which I'm thinking about ditching (Heroes, Terminator, etc). I must say one of my FAVORITE SHOWS on right now is Californication. It's one of the only shows I watch that I actually look forward to, and it DESTROYS Entourage. Let's show some Vevmo love, people! And if you aren't watching....Season 1 is available on DVD, Netflix, and surfthechannel.com David Duchovny is insane. I don't believe there's been a thread about this yet....and if there is...sorry, it didn't come up in the search I did =)

This is, by far, my favorite scripted show on TV. Here is a link to the Showtime schedule for the show: Showtime : Californication Series Schedule

I thought about watching it, but was so turned off by the direction Weeds was going that I for one reason or another threw Califonication into the same category and skipped it. I might get the DVD's and play catch up even though I am pissed about David screwing around on Tea!

guys. seriously. START WATCHING! It blows Weeds and Entourage away! I can't stress it enough! All the secondary characters are awesome too, including his manager played by Evan Handler (Sex and the City) and his coke head wife haha Like I said, dvds are out for S1 and Surf the Channel has the 6 aired S2 eps

Was there no new episode last Sunday?? or rather, what was the last one? Surf the Channel didn't update?

There was a new only last Sunday titled "**********," it played out more of the **** film story with Daisy and the Runkles.

I am starting part two of my season 1 marathon today. Loving it so far.

Alright, I finished it up and loved the first season. Can't wait for season 2 on DVD this summer. I was about to be really pissed that Hank let it go down the way he did, but the last 60 seconds turned that all around and made amends. For some reason I much better enjoy watching a half hour series on DVD than catching the weekly run, being I am not often satisfied with the allotted time (same goes for Weeds.) This way it runs more like a movie.

I LOVE CALIFORNICATION! Season 2 is just as good, if not better! Fantastic show. Glad you're watching!

Season two comes out on Netflix 8/25/09. I moved it to the top of my queue. Hopefully I am one of the lucky ones that gets it right out of the gate. I can't wait!

Season 2 was just as good in my opinion! Can't wait for Season 3 to start in Sept!

I plan to watch Entourage and then when it ends (end of September) I'll switch over to Showtime for Californication/Dexter. No way I am going to pay for two premium channels at once! ;) (And then I'll switch back to HBO in January for Big Love.)

A solid plan! We have both now only because DirecTV decided to give us a year of Showtime for free. Score!

Niiiiiiiice! My gf just got both discs in too. Enjoy!

I enjoyed the season, but it definitely was not on par with the first. I was able to watch the entire thing over the course of a few days, which was cool. It is a show that I will continue to get on DVD from Netflix, but I would not get Showtime just to see it. Edit: Ahhh, but it premieres the same night as Dexter so I'll be doing the HBO to Showtime move anyway.

Just caught up with Season 3. In my opinion, this show has NEVER wavered in quality. It's still funny as ****, with a progressive story. Runkle is the BESTTTT haha Kathleen Turner has been hilarious too!

This show is dead. They should have ended on a high note. I suffered through the premiere. I wanted to like it.

The first Three seasons were genius but the Fourth season started to fall apart and sadly looks like Season 5 follows suit :(.
