Behind the Screen: Buckwild

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

No one is arguing with you, you just made a very harsh and judgemental statement and I was hoping you could perhaps explain and back up what you were saying. I honestly wanted to hear you explain how people driving their car too deep into mud and having the exhaust pipe covered is in any way like a drug addict taking too much of something and dying. I just wanted to hear your explanation and perhaps try to understand where your harsh comments were coming from. That clearly is not a happening so I'm just going to drop it now. :)
Wasn't their truck found upside down?

Two completely different situations. One involves a murder the other involves a freak accident that killed an innocent kid.

No. So I would suggest getting facts straight before making such harsh statements.

I've looked it up now and it was originally reported that the truck was found turned over, that was when I made those comments.

So let me get this right. They got stuck in the mud, and because they sat there and didn't bother to get out or open a window they died from carbon monoxide poisoning? To be honest I'd rather die from an overdose than plain stupidity. I was under the impression they flipped the truck over and were knocked unconscious or trapped and were then gassed to death.

No, it was not. Okay, now I really don't care about your opinion either way seeing you don't even know what happened in the first place. No wonder you sound so ridiculous. You don't even understand what happened. LOL Just a heads up.....maybe look up and educate yourself on what has actually happened before passing such harsh judgements. Especially when it has to do with someone dying. I swear to god when people have anonymity on the internet they will say ANYTHING, no matter how uninformed or ignorant. SMH.

Honestly, your attitude towards the whole thing is rather sad, the lack of compassion and respect is bewildering to me. Once again, like Chill said educate yourself before making such sickening comments. They were mudding, mud got in the tailpipe causing carbon monoxide to leak into the vehicle. They were sitting in mud dying. From what I understand they got submerged in the mud after they died. How they didn't smell the gas, I don't know. I've never been in a situation like that.

I've read online that the carbon monoxide they breathed in that killed them smelled no different than oxygen. They had NO way of knowing what they were breathing in something different, it smelled and went in just like oxygen. That is why/how people are poisoned and killed by it so it often. It really is just a terribly tragic accident. That's why people like ILoveRW, who don't even know what they are talking about, makes me so sick. If this was a drinking and driving incident, or a drug incident, I'd feel differently. But this could happen to ANYONE. And it doesn't help that people like ILOveRW, who pass so much judgement, don't even know what really happened in the first place! Educate yourself before you run your mouth and are so disrespectful about the dead! You wouldn't be so nasty if it was one of your friends or family lost in a senseless accident.

A few people need to reread the site's Terms of Service available at the tab of the same name at the bottom right of this page. In the heat of the moment it is sometimes easy to forget what rules you signed up to when you became a vevmo member.

I second this. See, I wasn't aware of the fact that there was no Alcohol involved. So my statement in a previous page needs to be revised. Since no alcohol was involved, I am extremely flabbergasted that MTV would cancel the show. What could their reasoning be?

the reason MTV canceling the show because Shain came up with all the ideas he was the star of the show and the mastermind, So NO SHAIN=NO RATINGS (RIP SHAIN YOU WILL TRULY BE MISSED)
theman23#223
I dont think shain was going mudding because it was like 3 in the morning and then he was with his uncle who is over 40, I really believe they just got stuck in a ditch full of mud and shain tried to drive out.
Nostalgic#224
That special was garbage. Give the fans, excluding me, some resolution and enjoyment. Season 2 please.
boncat23#226
Shain was my favorite frfr, RIP
Nostalgic#227
Shain really"? screw him.
TwoStrikes#228
Im pretty sure "Buckwild" is gonna be called "Slednecks" for the Alaska season
Nostalgic#229
MTV frightens me. They thrive on being high for diversity buit yet most of their programming are dumb white casting shows.

Also I bet the OG cast is pissed. They were already hella thirsty and upset when the show got cancelled bc of Shane's passing saying they know he would have wanted them to continue not realizing he was the star of the show and the reason why it worked...

JUMPY#239

I miss the original Buckwild so much.  It was the best of mtv's white trash shows lol.  It sucks that the main character died after season 1, it would have been like if Snooki died after season 1 of Jersey Shore.  The girls on this show were surprisingly super hot, especially Cara and Shae. I still hope they'll pop-up on another reality show someday.
