Behind the Screen: Big Brother 11: Summer 2009

Big Brother remains one of the most-watched summer staples in American television, with its unique format of 24/7 live feeds giving superfans an unmatched window into the social dynamics of the game.

The show's blend of strategic gameplay, showmances, and blindsides has fueled one of the most dedicated online fanbases in reality TV — and Vevmo has been at the center of that conversation for years.

So has it been confirmed that the "twist" was that the houseguests would have to "work" their way up to $500,000...

Don't think some of the Real World cast would like being trapped inside a house where alcohol comes in short supply and you can only have it if you're allowed to eat that week. Plus with live feeds no hook-up would be secret. Haha Either way I'm excited for this season too...we'll have to see whether or not we are singing the same tune after it's all said and done.

It has not been confirmed yet. I think we will know all this on the first episode!

When will the cast be released?
RMD1#157
soon!
ssseeeaaann#158
Sequester probably starts this weekend so we will get details probably within the week.

What is sequester?

They put the players in different places and cut them off from the outside world before putting them in the house.
dplayer18#161
Oh cool, I haven't heard of that before.
GoldenWarrior#162
Yeah on some of the feeds you'll hear some of them talk about hotels and vans. Like when the whole Monica is fake thing went down they talked about riding in a van with her. Usually the feeds cut though when that happens.

You are correct. The house guests are being sequestered on Sunday.
A little tidbit from Corner: The 12 House Guests who haven’t been in the house before will be sequestered on Sunday. Let the Speculating begin!
[via realitybbq.com] Also, the cast is going to be released on July 1st (according to realitybbq).
Dartagnan#164
Yay! July 1st is almost here too!

I'm counting down the days. There is nothing on TV that really interests me right now and Big Brother is a full time job. I can't wait!

LOL yes it is a full time job, I know I'll be hooked on it.
Dartagnan#168
It is a full time job. I will miss here and there, but ahhhh the wonders of DVR.

It is not really the episodes themselves that make me say it is a full time job, it is all the other stuff! The show is always on via the feeds so things are always happening! There are youtube videos popping up. Rumors about the cast on hundreds of sites from what they looked like in high school to what type of films they were in *cough* BB9 James *cough*. Minute by minute recaps on jokers. Plain 24/7 insanity! I want to do the feeds, but I don't know if I am willing to devote that much of my life this year. :D

That is true as well. I wish I could devote more time to it, but sadly I may just be confined to the episodes and some feeds.
dplayer18#171
I don't know if I'll be getting the live feed, but I'm definitely going to DVR every episode that comes on.

WOW! I guess it could be true that Sheila and someone else will be houseguests. There were 12 cast members shown and 14 picture slots.
ssseeeaaann#174
They've always done 14 picture slots, even with BB10's cast of 13 and BB9's cast of 16. They are probably too cheap to redo the wall.
ryan01#175
Probably. Plus, they only had 13 chairs at the table.
Dartagnan#176
That's true. maybe they just forgot, or they are trying to trick us. Who cares.

That's the downside of using video monitors as the memory wall. On seasons with less than 14 houseguests, the last slot is usually filled with just the Big Brother logo. Also, I remember during Season 9, which began with 16 houseguests, they did not put the casts photos on the memory wall until after the first two had been evicted.

Jordan does seem like a popular kid.
