Behind the Screen: Back to New York: Mike "The Miz" Mizanin

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

Wrestlers go years without winning the championship. He won this because he has the "it factor." He worked very hard. It is not as easy as it seems. People around here aren't giving him enough credit. This is an amazing accomplishment for him.

No, he won it because the writers made it happen.

There, I fixed it for you. :) I know it's hard work, and I know the injuries are real. Im just saying, he won because the writers decided to have him win. But I am not taking away from the fact that he wouldn't have gotten this far without his hard work. I used to LOVE wrestling when I was younger. I don't know if it was a common fact back then that wrestling was fake, but I full heartedly believed that it was real. That was why I was so into it. I don't know, maybe I didn't know that it wasn't fake because I was young and gullible. When WCW invaded WWF....that was one of my favorite moments ever. Good times...

Hard work has a lot to do with it.

Never even knew he did an episode of this. It reminded me of what the Challenges should be like.
I guess this is just me but I feel the host of the Fear Factor is why we have TJ now. Image and everything. I mean other than the stuttering they two hosts are alike, IMO. On Topic, I heard he was on Fear Factor during the "celebrity edition" but never saw it. I think it comes on CHILL tv and SiTV.

Which is why I used to hate it for good back in the day. My friend's sister used to watch this and Barney back to back when it was on Sundays. But that was back when the Undertacker was on. Old school love>3

I don't watch wrestling but congrats to Mike! Good to see him accomplishing his goals in life.

The sad children were the true stars of that clip. They were disillusioned to see a bunch of grown men cheering for the homoerotic soap opera. Miz was a cool and funny dude on the RW though.

10 years ago when Mike ran around the house on the final episode claiming to be Miz! Who knew, fast forward, Mike would become one of the biggest superstars in the WWE and headlining Wrestlemania!

It's pretty awesome! I think they are going on last...that must be real surreal for him.

I'd be shocked if Miz/Cena was not the main event. They need the last shot of this year's wrestlemania to be The Rock standing in the ring.

John Cena is going to win, unless the Rock interferes. They'd be stupid to take the belt off the Miz

I remember Timmy and Theo were laughing at how silly Mike was walking around with his belt on Battle of the Seasons lol.

Miz is living his dreams. I'm so in shocked that he's actually made it this far in the WWE.
UrbanTactics#48
Congrats Miz!!! Well deserved even though it wasn't fairly won hah

I don't know if this is news, but its new to me, he's even in WWE Smackdown v. Raw 2011 (its obvious, he's a champion). I use to have a collection of those games back then. He's so blessed. http://community.smackdownvsraw.com/roster/miz

If something had to be news, I dare say this site would require a lot let storage capacity. Don't really follow him or wrestling. Seems like once I get some sort of grip on wrestling, the name of the league, for lack of a better word, changes. :music:
UrbanTactics#52
Miz was in Smackdown vs. RAW 2009 as well as 2010... lol
wutzrenzi#53
I never knew.

He just mentioned TRW on wrestling. He was like, "My season of the Real World was the most interesting ever" or something. My stepdad was watching it and I turned around and was like, "whaaat?". The other guy was like, "The Real World? Never watched it. I was too busy living...in the real world." Thought that was amusing.

Yesssss!!!!! Now bring him back to compete! lol
kristalie#60
Eeeee so excited!! :D I always had the biggest crush on him. Recently my mom was like, "Who was that guy Mike or something you used to be obsessed with?" talking about him haha
JackPeyton#61
Wow, people obviously have no idea how it is decided who carried the belt. Of course its written, but first of the writers don't decide it. Creative does. Big difference. second, in order to even be thought of to carry the title wrestlers have to prove themselves, work their way up, became a superstar in the WWE and show promise. Mike worked hard for this, congrats to him. And to top it all off, he is hosting the after show according to MTV. Nice to see he appreciates the real world/challenge experience.
