Behind the Screen: The Bachelor (Generic Thread)

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

It might be on the wings of love. Might make more sense with the song and all. Either way, cheesy as hell.

I really don't know if I can watch a season with Jake as the bachelor!

Wing of Love sounds like a VH1 show with Hot Wings. I will skip this season....

Yeah, they had "Officer and a Gentlemen" with Andy, and "London Calling" with that British dude.

HAHAHAAHAAHAHAA!! It does! And no matter to me, I quit watching the Bachelor after Bob Guiney. *shudder*

It is because he is an airline pilot.

I agree, this guy is boring.

Did I miss when Wes confirmed he had a gf????

AOL even wrote an article about how this guy was a bad choice
"Jake takes vapid to a new, almost creepy level," E.W.'s Popwatch blog wrote today. The New York Post's Popwrap "won't watch" and calls Jake a "loser." Sounds like there is a consensus...

Ouch...should have went with Reid!
Dandelion#15
I really wanted them to go with Michael... but I heard he is dating... I don't remember so many people being so outspokenly opposed to the announcement for a new bachelor before....
Bacchus#17
I'm going to give this half and hour because there is absolutely nothing else on. ;)

Boise State vs. Texas Christian. Not high on my list... Sure, well ranked teams this year - but not ones I have ever cared about. I only do PAC 10 and ACC. ;) Anyway, I've survived 45 minutes. The nut ball factor seems a bit lower than the last time I watched, but there are still enough to cause lots of awkward discomfort. That aside, maybe I'll just watch Mythbusters at nine and then call it a night.

Same here. I have to stifle a guffaw every time I even see the commercials because of this.

And then they actually just played the music to that song....Nice.

There's nothing on so I threw this on. Some of these girls are bat**** crazy. As for the girl that is sent home...
SpoilerRozlyn is the one that has the supposed affair with the production guy (which is supposed ***********] And for the final 4/3/2: Reality Steve (who was right on with the Molly/Melissa scenario) says the final 4 is Tenley, Gia, Vienna, and Ali. Ali then voluntarilydecides to leave. Gia is next to go, and Jake supposedly picks Vienna over Tenley.
Yawn.

I find that interesting...because it seems totally believable.

Oh I don't doubt it considering the recent string of poor decisions made by the Bachelor production team. This whole "sexual relationship" thing is full of crap. They're big fat liars.

Yeah. It just REEKS of B.S. So I take it the "production" guy got to keep his job? Not that he shouldn't, but if they got rid of her for flawing up their plan, wouldn't you think he'd have some repercussions coming to him too? I say this because she said "what he did was noble" so I assume he must have defended her or spoke up for her regarding speaking to her son?
Dandelion#27
I thought last night was outrageous! Why do I keep watching this nonsense? I totally believe her side of the story... I mean it's so obvious that Chris will only say a innapropriate relationship in the scope of this show! What is that exactly????

Have to admit I was less than thrilled to have Jake as the new Bachelor, but he has been surprisingly amiable for me so far (more so than Jillian ever was). Kind of sad to see certain people leave... this season could use a bit more crazy :wacko2: Really sad to see Christina leave this week but I think it was apparent that Jake felt uncomfortable with her after their "talk" on the couch. @Molds' spoiler...
SpoilerSucks that Ali decides to leave because she was my pick to go all the way. My wife won't be too happy to discover that Vienna is the winner but that doesn't rub me the wrong way... she seems very sweet.
And a small rant... why do they insist on showing far too much in their previews for future episodes, or even during the opening previews. I'm not adverse to reading spoilers about shows because I enjoy seeing the way things play out, but I would definitely understand how some people could be upset because they pretty much give away each week if you just casually watch the preview for the next one. Can't they just show a little about what happens on the dates?

I'm guessing that he actually got fired.
