Behind the Screen: American Horror Story

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

"That's bull**** journalization. Many sequels have surpassed their original." And I intend to agree with them when this was stated, lol. And I'm sick of people claming that sequels suck because their sequels and not original... As for AHS, I'm just not that into it. I knew from the jump they would all die anyway.

There's a huge difference between a movie and an on-going television series.

No kidding. That was what I was getting at.

Yes, but sequels (for movies) do tend to suck, which you disagree with. Television series are a different ball game.

Generalization*, not journalization. Sorry I had to, I'm obsessed with the Scream movies... Anyways, I think it's kind of a neat concept to do an anthology type series and switch it off each season. I really liked the show when it started, but I missed a few episodes in the middle and never caught up. Heard about the ending though, pretty crazy! I guess it was appropriate that it ended the way it did. That family never had a chance did they...

I was totally thinking the same thing but didn't want to "geek out" (Alison Brie S4 reference) .... OK, now I'm lame. ;)

Nope, they didn't. It would kind of feel pointless if they reused the original cast anyway. Case in point: Skins UK. Each cast only lasts 2 seasons and then they replace them, and that series turned out fine. Sometimes viewers learn to not get attached to the originals.

Yeah they'd be kind of stupid to let the Golden Globe and SAG Award winner go...

Do yourself a favor and Netflix it when it comes out! I can't wait to scoop up the blu-ray so I can rewatch it all knowing what I now know! What a GREAT series. Such a breath of fresh air for the Horror genre and TV, in general.

These are some of the teasers AHS has been posting on their Facebook page. EDIT: Facebook page has a lot of quick fan exclusive videos as well as some pictures. Looks pretty good!!

Yes, this is Season 2. Fortunately missing Season 1 will have no impact on following Season 2.

It's an anthology series, so each season is a completely new story. Several of the actors from the first season will be back, but playing entirely different characters. I'm really looking forward to tonight, the teasers have been awesome! Here are all of the teasers in one clip: American Horror Story - All Teasers Compilation as of 9-24-2012 - YouTube

Absolutely great again tonight--the acting is just amazing. The story line with Kit is a little far-fetched but we'll see how the pull it together. Based on last year I'm sure they will.

The premiere was very good, it kept me on my toes the entire time. I'm a bit scared to sleep after watching it. So many questions I need answers to !

I was hoping to see more of Adam Levine. He did very well.

Obviously Jessica Lange was superb as always - but damn...Lily Rabe is phenomenal.

Agreed...Lily Rabe was great. Evan Peters has definitely come a long way as well since the beginning of last season. Adding Chloe Sevigny, Clea DuVall and Sarah Paulson was brilliant. Just an amazing cast... The French actress that plays Grace was amazing too.
