I wasn't either. I love how they're all thanking the people at Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg when he has made it quite clear he was not happy with the movie.

I like how Armie was up on stage and yet Andrew and Jesse were just hanging out at their table.

Yes! The Social Network deserves that award! It defines my generation! Plus it's a very inspirational & motivational movie, but also shows the negative sides of power. IT IS PURE ART!!!

Plus The Social Network won best picture at the Critic choice awards, and the majority of articles I read has it as the front-runner for The Oscar!

Same here. Well...in terms of the acting, I couldn't really disagree with any of those (Firth, Portman, Bale and Leo are favorites to win the Oscars IMO) but best picture? I am shocked Inception didn't get it, although a lot of its buzz has died down recently. Did Inception even win anything? And was True Grit not nominated at all??

How are some of you surprised? Many articles clearly stated The Social Network as the favorite to win Best Picture in all award shows, and the only competiton it had was The King's Speech.

Actually, most of the articles I read said that The King's Speech was the favorite.

Same here, I agree with the acting. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Inception it still deserved Best picture way more than Social Network. IMO, Social Network was by far the worst of the movies nominated for Best Picture....

I don't think Inception ended up winning anything. But it should have won Best Screenplay. As far as Screenplay is concerned... Inception > Social Network (in my opinion).

For drama? Yes. For best picture overall (including comedy)? Nooooo. Alice in Wonderland was much much worse. Although apparently Angelina Jolie laughed when she found out The Tourist was nominated.

When they listed the nominees for Best Motion Picture Comedy, it was a no brainer The Kids Are All Right would win. It was the only good movie of the bunch.

But Molds you said you didn't watch The Social Network so how can you say it may be the worst in Best Drama. Plus judging by the screenplay, acting, and the type of person you seem to be like on vevmo I would have assumed you would have really liked The Social Network, but I'm wrong I see hahaha...it's seriously THE best movie because I could connect with it, like so many people who have dreams/aspirations.

By the way, Katey Segal has really really really good doctors.

I was just comparing SN to the rest of the films nominated for Best Picture at the end... whatever the heck it was. Alice in Wonderland was a joke... goodness I really miss the older Tim Burton films, the classics. Now he just puts Johnny Depp ( Nothing against Johnny) in all of his movies and makes some circus show, which is getting really old.

That was such a joke category. What about Get Him to the Greek, Easy A, Kick-***, Scott Pilgrim? Those were all much better than the others nominated.

Don't get me wrong, I've heard it was very well acted and directed, but it's not the kind of movie that jumped out at me that made me say "OOH, I really have to see that!" I didn't feel that way about Inception, or The King's Speech, or Black Swan, or The Fighter. Those are all movies I would probably pay to see in a theater...unlike The Social Network.

Oh, absolutely. I even went to see Alice in Wonderland (and in 3D!) based on Johnny Depp and HBC and walked away thoroughly disappointed. Unfortunately, his classics seem to trump anything he makes now. Not to mention, Burton totally took one of my favorite movies ever (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) and proceeded to scare the ever-loving crap out of me with that remake. Just awful.

True I agree. At first I really wanted to see it, but lost interest quickly until I got the DVD and realized how great it really was. The other movies were great as well, but I just connected with The Social Network. I also love the movies witty and sarcastic comedy lol. Yes Tim Burton keeps making all these movies that don't compare to his old work! Comedy movies were sad this year, but Easy A should have been nominated!

I'm glad Natalie Portman won for Black Swan... she totally deserved it.

She's like Sandra Bullock this year. Favorite to win everything. I'll be shocked if she doesn't win the Oscar which is great because she is an amazing actress.

OK producer...I'm going to watch The Social Network right now. I'll let you know my thoughts.
