Behind the Screen: 13: Fear is Real

For over two decades, MTV's The Challenge has been the proving ground where reality TV's fiercest competitors come to cement their legacies. What started as a Real World/Road Rules spinoff has evolved into one of the most physically and mentally demanding competition series on television.

The franchise's expansion — with spinoffs in the USA, UK, Argentina, and Australia — speaks to a global appetite for the brand of cutthroat competition and alliance-driven gameplay that Vevmo's community has been tracking since 2007.

13: Fear is Real

Here is an interview with Leah from FearNet. An excerpt from the interview: Knowing what you know now, would you do it again? That is a hard question. Meeting new people was worth it – I would do it again in a heartbeat. But sitting in the swamps, holding spiders and maggots… I just don't know. We went crazy because we never knew when we would do things, and what we would have to do. When the show was over, we had to do a "debriefing," where we all went to see a psychologist. Everyone – even the guys – broke down crying at least once. As crazy as it sounds, we wanted to go back to the woods, back to the old fort, because we didn't know how to function anymore in the real world. But I think I probably would do it again. It was such an experience.

The episode last night was very entertaining I thought. I was definitely on edge about who was going home, because the edits Ted and Melyssa were getting didn't really make one seem like they were going home more than the other. Sadly it was Melyssa though. I was upset, because I'm pulling for everyone but Nasser and Ted, and finally we get to see a little bit of her personality, but she lost. I'm definitely pulling for Erica because she has played the best game.

So my family screwed up my Fringe recording on Tuesday. I was so pissed. In an effort to make sure they didn't screw up Dollhouse I had to delete 13: Fear Is Real. Read some spoilers online and found that I'm ok with not watching haha Let me know who wins though!

So the winner had me very upset. It was Ted. I think Erica and Nasser had played the best game, especially Erica and was hoping for her to pull it off. I really liked the game Hunt. I thought it was a great idea, and thought it would have been even better if that was the whole final mission, and they had cut out the cabin portion.

What was the game Hunt? I didn't watch the episode.

All three of them were taken into the woods and separated. All of this at night time. There were three death boxes hidden with a lock on each one. They had to basically find a death box and kill somebody. Nasser was the only one who found one and went after both Ted and Erica, but killed Erica first.
